Last Frontier Ganesh Himal

The Ganesh Himal area trekking is suitable for fully equipped trekkers. The area that lies west of Langtang consists of several peaks over 7000 meters. Usually the trek starts from Syabrubesi and takes at least nine days if the finishing point is Trishuli. You may also finish the trek at Dhading. For that you have to add three more days. No specific permit is needed to trek in the Ganesh Himal area. However, Langtang National Park entry fee must be paid as the starting point comes under its territory.

From Syabribesi the route follows the old trail to Paldor base camp. There is an access road to the Ganesh Himal due to mines. But, it can be avoided to enjoy the trek. After four days the Paldor base camp is reached. From Paldor the route passes through Mailung Khola before climbing up onto the crest of the Tiru Danda ridge. As you keep walking for three more days you will be amazed to see the spectacular views of Annapurna massif and Manaslu to the west, Ganesh Himal to the north, and Langtang to the east. Crossing the pass at Pansang Bhanjyang the trail passes finally ends up at Trishuli Bazar in three days. From Trishuli you may either come back to Kathmandu by bus, or head towards Dhading.
