Suklaphanta National Park


The reserve is situated in Kanchanpur district in an area of 305 square kilometers. It was established in 1969. It is a prime habitat for swamp deer that are very populous here, roughly 2,500. The main flora in the reserve is Sal. Wild elephants, tigers, hispid hares and chital are plentifully found in the reserve. The reserve also boasts of 200 species of bird, including some rare grassland birds. Snakes and lizards are also found in the reserve.
