Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve


This is the only hunting reserve in the country. The reserve, divided into six areas, is located in Rukum, Myagdi and Baglung districts of western Nepal, in an area of 1325 square kilometers. The reserve was established in 1983. The reserve is replete with game animals such as blue sheep. The reserve has flora and fauna typical of alpine, sub-alpine and high temperate regions. The endangered fauna featuring in the reserve are musk deer, wolf, red panda, sheer pheasant and danphe.
