Khaptad National Park


The park is located in the mountains of Far-Western Nepal, basically Bajhang, Bajura, Doti and Accham districts. Established in 1984, the park stretches in an area of 255 square kilometers. The park has a variety of flora and fauna typical of sub-tropical and tropical forests. The specialty of this park is the presence of a wide variety of butterflies, moths and insects. The park is also famous for the ashram of saint Khaptad Swami, and therefore, alcohol, cigarettes and tobacco are prohibited in the area.
