Sagarmatha Everest National Park


The park lies on an area of 1,148 square kilometers in the Khumbu region, northeast of Nepal. The park has within its perimeters the highest peak in the world, Mt. Sagarmatha (Everest). In addition, it also boasts of several other peaks: Lhotse, Nuptse, Cho Oyu, Pumori, Ama Dablam, Tham-Serku, Kwangde, Kangtaiga and Gyachung Kang.

The park has flora and fauna typical of alpine region. The park has settlements of Sherpas in Namche Bazaar, Khumjung, Khunde, Thame, Tyangboche, Pangboche and Phortse.
